Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

The Dynamic Alternatives Group (DAG) have trained over 35 000 people in South Africa and Internationally.

The Dynamic Alternatives Group (DAG) and its Directors are accredited with the following statutory and Industry bodies:

  • SASSETA (Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority South Africa)
  • PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority South Africa
  • ASIAL (Australian Security Industry Association Limited
  • SAIS (South African Institute of Security)
  • CPASA (Close Protection Association of South Africa)
  • SAPS CFR (SA Police Service Central Firearms Control Register)
  • City & Guilds (United Kingdom Education and Training Accreditation Body
  • Queensland Private Security Registry – Department of Justice and the Attorney General and Justice – Accredited security advisory firm
  • In order to qualify for RPL you need to meet the criteria below:

    • Must have attended and passed a Close Protection training course of at least 10 actual training days presented by an established training organisation that if possible can be contacted to verify relevant information (Supply provider information with application please)/ or have at least 5 years of verifiable close protection and/or related experience
    • In possession of valid South African or International driver’s license
    • In good health with no transferable disease. Must be prepared and agree to undergo a full medical exam if requested, at THEIR expense.
    • Must have at least a Grade 12 (Matriculation) and be fully literate in English.
    • Must have experience and training with firearms. (Supply provider information with application please)
    • South Africans to be registered with PSIRA if not in State services.
    • No criminal record
    •  Applicants must be willing to pass through an evaluation and selection process that will assess suitability of a candidate for RPL
    • It should be noted that if a candidate is not successful with his/her RPL request he/she may appeal the decision by notifying DAs in writing within 10 working days of receiving the RPL findings from DAs.
